DESCRIPTION:The 3R Competence Center (3RCC) promotes the principles of the
  Three Rs (Refinement\, Reduction\, Replacement of animal experimentation)
  in Switzerland and facilitates their implementation in life sciences with
  a main focus on high quality research\, education and communication.\n\nT
 he  3RCC  funding  program  addresses  basic\, applied\, translationa
 l and bench-to-market  research  that  supports the development\,  o
 ptimization\,  application  and  implementation  of  new  or  modif
 ied  3Rs  approaches\,  methods  and technologies. Collaborative and m
 ulti-centre projects are encouraged. \n\nWho can apply: \n\n	Lead  appli
 cants  should  be  Swiss-based  researchers  who  can  demonstrate
   that  they  will direct the proposed research and be actively engaged
  in carrying it throughout its duration.\n	Applicants  must  be  active
   in  research  and/or  education-related  activities  at  an  eli
 gible institution (see below) in Switzerland at least 50% of their time at
  the time of submission.\n	The minimum formal qualification required 
 is a graduate degree\, although it would normally be expected that 
 the applicant has been awarded a PhD\, or is a MD or Dr. Med. Vet.\n	Less-
 experienced researchers  are  encouraged  to  make  their  applicat
 ions  in collaboration with a more senior colleague.\n\n\nDuration: 3 yea
 rs\n\nEligible costs: personnel\, consumables\, equipment\, animal costs\,
  travel and meeting costs\, publications and communications. Does not cove
 r overheads and other indirect costs.\n\nDeadline for outline application:
