DESCRIPTION:The Foundation supports projects at universities or non-profit
  research institutions in the following areas of support:\n\n	History\, La
 nguage & Culture\n	The interdisciplinary field “Image–Sound–Language
 ”\n	State\, Economy and Society\n	Medicine and the Natural Sciences\n	In
 terdisciplinary projects are also welcomed.\n\n\nApplications must have a 
 clear connection to the German research system:\n\n	German scientists work
 ing on the project\,\n	non-German scientists being affiliated to German re
 search institutes and/or\n	research topic related thematically to German r
 esearch interests.\n\n\nDoes not support:\n\n\n	Applications that are alre
 ady under consideration by other funding institutions.\n	Projects which ar
 e solely aimed at completing doctoral dissertations.\n\n\nWho can apply: \
 n\n\n	Doctoral students and Postdoctoral researchers. \n\n        
 Only for applicants in the Medicine area of support:\n\n\n	Applicants must
  have 2-4 years of experience in postdoctoral research.\n	Applicants must 
 aim at setting up or expanding a small working group of their own.\n	Firml
 y established researchers and scientists (holders of chairs\, directors of
  clinics) are NOT eligible.\n\n\nDuration: 2 years (renewable for 1 more y
 ear)\nFunding: not specified.\n \nEligible costs:\n\n\n	PI’s salary (on
 ly for postdoctoral junior researchers)\n	Personnel costs for academic and
  non-academic staff (usually 1 full-time position or 2 part-time positions
 )\n	One-off costs (special literature\, licenses\, small equipment\, etc.)
 \n	Annual running costs (e.g. supplies)\n	Costs for experimental animals a
 nd animal facilities\n	Other costs (e.g. contracts with outside providers\
 , works agreements\, costs for use of core facilities)\n	Travel expenses\n
 \n\nNon Eligible costs:\n\n\n	Salaries for staff who already have a post\n
 	Construction work\n	Office procurement\n	Overheads\n\n\nInternal Deadline
