DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Spencer Foundation invests in education research th
 at cultivates learning and transforms lives. The Large Research Grants on 
 Education Program supports education research projects that will contribut
 e to the improvement of education\, broadly conceived. This program is “
 field-initiated” in that proposal submissions are not in response to a s
 pecific request for a particular research topic\, discipline\, design\, me
 thod\, or location. Our goal for this program is to support rigorous\, int
 ellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to t
 he most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in education.\n\nF
 unding:        max. $500’000\n\nDuration:      1-5 years\n\nEl
 igibility: Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs must have an earned do
 ctorate in an academic discipline or professional field or appropriate exp
 erience in an education research-related profession. The PI must be affili
 ated with a non-profit organization that is willing to serve as the admini
 stering organization if the grant is awarded. Proposals are accepted from 
 the U.S. and internationally\, however\, all proposals must be submitted i
 n English and budgets must be proposed in U.S. Dollars.\n\nHow to Apply: T
 he application process begins with an Intent to Apply form\, consisting of
  a list of project personnel\, a proposal summary\, and project classifica
 tion data.  Once submitted\, you will have access to the Full Proposal ap
 plication in the online form. The full proposal should include a summary o
 f personnel\, a proposal summary\, a budget and justification\, a proposal
  narrative\, and a project timeline. The full proposal requires the signat
 ure of an authorized representative before submission\; for this step\, pl
