DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Foundation for Alcohol Research (SFAR)\n \n\n	funds
  projects that promise to deliver new insights in the general field of alc
 ohol research\n	awards funding for scientific conferences\n	actively encou
 rages research on neglected fields\n	awards grants to promote talented you
 ng researchers\n	ensures that scientific findings are actually disseminate
 d through publication grants\n\n\nPriority is given to applications that h
 ave practical relevance for public health in addition to their scientific 
 value.\n\nThe Foundation Board is made up of representatives from the Fede
 ral Office of Public Health\, the Swiss Alcohol Board\, the Federal Commis
 sion for Alcohol-Related Issues\, Addiction Switzerland and experts from v
 arious scientific disciplines\, e.g. medicine\, psychology\, biology and s
 ociology.\n\nThe Foundation offers the following funding instruments:\n\n\
 n	Grants to researchers to conduct scientific studies (max. CHF 70K per ye
 ar). Note that for applications that use animal experiments\, the relation
  to human biology must be explicitly demonstrated. Basic research using on
 ly animal experiments will not be considered for funding.\n	Grants to univ
 ersity graduates (SNSF rates for 1 year). Grants are awarded to university
  graduates\, usually up to 35 years old\, provided their post-graduate stu
 dy involves generating knowledge that can conceivably be used in future al
 cohol research.\n	Funding for scientific conferences\, particularly coordi
 nation meetings (max. CHF 5-10K). Funding can be awarded to conferences p
 rovided alcohol research is a central theme of the conference and it has a
  link to Switzerland. The application must state the specific purpose of t
 he SFAR funding at the conference. The Foundation does not provide deficie
 ncy guarantees for conferences.\n	Publication grants (max. CHF 3K). Public
 ation grants will be awarded if the publication makes a key contribution t
 o knowledge in the field of alcohol research.\n\n\nCall deadline: 1 April 
 2021\n\nDecision: mid-September.\nSuccess rate: 25%\n\nFor further informa
