DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The mission of the American Brain Tumor Association is
to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals
of improving\, extending and\, ultimately\, saving the lives of those impa
cted by a brain tumor diagnosis. To this end\, the ABTA seeks applications
from faculty who propose high-risk / high-impact projects with the potent
ial to change current diagnostic or treatment paradigms for adult and pedi
atric brain tumor care. The funding mechanism specifically encourages nove
l research by allowing researchers to conduct the early scientific studies
needed to secure additional/future funding for their projects.\n\nFunding
 :        USD $50’000\n\nDuration:      1 year\n\nEligibility:
Grants will be awarded to a single principal investigator (PI). PIs  must
have a doctoral degree and a full-time faculty position\, but must not ha
ve held a faculty position prior to 20/08/2011. For PIs within five years
of their first faculty appointment\, a Lead Mentor is required\; the Lead
Mentor must be at the same institution and must also conduct brain tumor r
esearch. There are no restrictions on citizenship or location of the (non-
profit) host institution.\n\nHow to Apply: The two-step application proces
s begins with a letter of intent (LOI). The LOI follows a prescribed templ
ate which gathers information summarizing the proposed research project. T
he LOI should be submitted through proposalCENTRAL. Once registered or log
ged in\, you can find the funding opportunity by searching for ABTA\, then
download the appropriate guidelines and templates. The LOI submission req
uires letters of support and signatures of approval from the Lead Mentor a
nd the Lead Institution\; if you have any questions about these\, contact
the Research Office. Decisions from the LOI stage will be returned in mid-
February.\n\nIf EPFL will serve as your host institution\, please use the
following institution name in proposalCENTRAL: Ecole Polytechnique Fédér
ale de Lausanne EPFL. \n\nDeadline (LOI):
    09 December 2020 (12:00 CST)\nDeadline\, Full App.:
