  a fertile ground for creative problem-solving and innovation. Nonetheless
 \, it can also be the source of misunderstandings if different modes of pe
 rception\, mental models\, and communication styles aren’t anticipated a
 nd not recognized as such.\n\nDuring this conference we will look at concr
 ete examples on how our background and the culture in which we grew up do 
 impact the ways we perceive behavior and communication patterns. Easily ap
 plicable intercultural tools will enable participants to make sense of the
 ir own experiences working with individuals from around the globe\, and su
 pport them in transforming EPFL’s campus diversity into a significant as

 \, and has been a regular lecturer at the EPFL since 2006.
