DESCRIPTION:Prof. Raman Sundrum\nThe puzzling pattern of hierarchical mass
  scales and couplings found in elementary particle physics finds an attrac
 tive and unified explanation in terms of general relativistic "redshifts" 
 that occur when the the Standard Model is embedded within "warped" higher-
 dimensional spacetime. This paradigm can be realized as an alternative to 
 Supersymmetry\, or in combination with it. I review the theoretical struct
 ure in light of developments in the last decade\, ranging from low-energy 
 experiments to string theory\, and discuss the implications for the Large 
 Hadron Collider. The deep and magical equivalence between the higher-dimen
 sional structure and strongly-coupled quantum field theory in ordinary spa
 cetime\, known as the "AdS/CFT correspondence"\, will be explained in simp
 le terms.
