DESCRIPTION:To promote research and education in cyber-defence\, EPFL\, th
 e Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne\, and the Cyber-Defenc
 e (CYD) Campus have jointly launched the “CYD Fellowships – A Talent P
 rogram for Cyber-Defence Research.”\n\nCYD Fellowships are designed to p
 romote new solutions to major challenges in the fields of security and dat
 a science by bringing together basic and applied research. They are open t
 o researchers at master\, doctoral\, or postdoctoral level who are willing
  to engage with cross-cutting issues in cyber-defence\, with a particular 
 emphasis on:\n\n	novel technologies for protecting the confidentiality\, i
 ntegrity\, and availability of cyber and cyber-physical systems\n	privacy-
 enhancing technologies\n	data science and artificial intelligence methods 
 for analysing cyber- and technology-relevant data\n	research on vulnerabil
 ities and backdoors in digital systems\n\n\nThe CYD Fellowships are suppor
 ted by armasuisse Science and Technology.\n\nWhat:  6-month CYD Master Th
 esis Fellowships (living allowance and research funds)\n4-year (with a pos
 sible one-year extension) CYD Doctoral Fellowships (salary and research an
 d conference funds)\n(up to) 2-year CYD Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellows
 hips (salary and research and conference funds)\n\nWhere:  CYD fellows ar
 e hosted by a higher education institution in Switzerland and conduct thei
 r research at the CYD Campus located on the premises of EPFL and ETHZ and 
 in its office in Thun. The CYD Campus is a cyber-competence center acting 
 as an anticipation platform for identifying and assessing technologies\, c
 ommercial and social cyber trends\, as well as the resulting usage scenari
 os.\n\nEligibility:  Citizens of any nationality can apply\nCYD Master Th
 esis Fellowships: applicants must be enrolled in a Master program at a Swi
 ss higher education institution and receive the endorsement of a professor
  willing to supervise them\nCYD Doctoral Fellowships: applicants must be a
 ccepted into a doctoral program at a Swiss higher education institution an
 d receive the endorsement of a professor willing to supervise them\nCYD Di
 stinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships: applicants must receive the endorsem
 ent of a professor at a Swiss higher education institution willing to supe
 rvise them and plan to conduct their postdoctoral research funded by a Dis
 tinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship in a different laboratory from the one 
 of their doctoral and (if applicable) of their current postdoctoral resear
 ch.\n\nWhen to start:  Within 6 months of the notice of the award\n\nHow
