DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The ADDF seeks to support studies of cognitive symptoms
  due to health conditions\, comparative effectiveness research\, and epide
 miological studies that probe whether the use or choice of drugs alters th
 e risk for dementia or cognitive decline.\n\nSpecifically\, the Prevention
  Pipeline RFP supports:\n\n	Studies of Cognitive Decline and Risk Reductio
 n\n	Comparative Effectiveness Research\n	Studies Leveraging the Consortium
  of Cohorts for Alzheimer's Prevention Action (CAPA)\n\n\nCurrent target a
 reas of interest include:\n\n	Epigenetics\n	Inflammation\n	Mitochondria & 
 metabolic function\n	Neuroprotection\n	Proteostasis\n	Synaptic activity an
 d neurotransmitters\n	Vascular function\n	Other aging target (e.g. senesce
 nt cells)\n	Other novel targets or pathways that are supported by compelli
 ng evidence demonstrating a rational biological connection to the disease 
 process\n\n\nFunding:        max. $3M (clinical trials)\n\nDuration:
       Multi-year\n\nEligibility: Funding is open to researchers and cl
 inicians worldwide at academic medical centers and universities or nonprof
 its.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlines for proposal submissions occur three times
  per year. Applications are reviewed in a two-step process: Letters of Int
 ent (LOIs) are the first step. ADDF’s science team will evaluate LOIs to
  determine whether the proposed project is consistent with the ADDF's miss
 ion and funding priorities. LOI decisions will be sent within three weeks 
 of submission. Step 2 is an invited full proposal\, which should include a
  detailed project narrative\, budget and justification\, and biographical 
 information.  When formulating the budget\, note that the following costs
  are not covered: Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication costs\, Equipment\
