DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The aim of this RFP is to further develop and validate 
 established biomarkers for which there is a clear clinical need in Alzheim
 er's disease and related dementias. This RFP prioritizes biomarkers with a
  defined context of use\, a clear advantage over other relevant biomarkers
 \, and a path to commercialization and/or clinical use.\n\nSpecifically\, 
 this RFP focuses on:\n\n	developing novel PET ligands for clinical use\n	s
 upporting novel CSF biomarkers\n	validating established MRI approaches in 
 larger cohorts\n\n\nNovel biomarkers of neuroinflammation\, synaptic integ
 rity\, autophagy and TDP-43 are high priority. Other target areas of inter
 est include:\n\n\n	Neuronal loss\n	Vascular injury and blood-brain barrier
  integrity\n	Mitochondria and metabolic function\n	Protein misfolding\n	Ox
 idative stress\n	White matter changes\n	Lewy body dementia\n	Other novel t
 argets supported by compelling biological rationale and connection to dise
 ase\n\n\nFunding:        max. $600\,000\n\nDuration:      1 year
 \n\nEligibility: Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide a
 t academic medical centers and universities or nonprofits. Industry partne
 rships are encouraged.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlines for proposal submissions
  occur three times per year. Applications are reviewed in a two-step proce
 ss: Letters of Intent (LOI) are the first step. ADDF’s science team will
  evaluate LOIs to determine whether the proposed project is consistent wit
 h the ADDF's mission and funding priorities. LOI decisions will be sent wi
 thin three weeks of submission. Step 2 is an invited full proposal\, which
  should include a detailed project narrative\, budget and justification\, 
 and biographical information.  When formulating the budget\, note that th
 e following costs are not covered: Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication c
