CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:The 'Network of European Funding for Neuroscience Research' (N
EURON) aims at coordinating research efforts and funding programmes of its
partner countries in the field of mental\, neurological and sensory disor
ders.\n\nThe ERA-NET NEURON call aims to facilitate multinational\, collab
orative research projects that will address important translational questi
ons relating to the neurodevelopmental nature of neurological and mental d
isorders. This call is limited to disorders that show their first manifest
ations before the end of adolescence and impair the development and the fu
nction of the nervous system. Research on the continuation or progression
of those symptoms with a lifetime perspective is allowed if addressing the
consequences of disorders starting before adolescence.\n\nThe call will a
ccept research proposals ranging from understanding basic mechanisms of ne
urodevelopmental disorders to proof-of-concept clinical studies in humans.
The NEURON funding organisations particularly wish to promote interdiscip
linary work and translational research proposals that combine basic and cl
inical approaches. In the context of the present call\, the collaboration
across different disciplines including both clinicians and fundamental neu
roscientists is highly encouraged.\n\nResearch proposals should cover at l
east one of the following areas:\n\n	Fundamental research addressing the p
athogenesis\, aetiology\, susceptibility\, and resilience mechanisms of ne
urodevelopmental disorders. This may include the development of innovative
or shared resources and technologies that are relevant for neurodevelopme
ntal disorders.\n	Clinical research to develop novel strategies for preven
 tion\, diagnosis\, patient stratification\, therapy and/or rehabilitation
for neurodevelopmental disorders.\n\n\nWho can apply: \n\n\n	International
consortia composed from minimum 3 to maximum 5 researchers (including par
tners) from universities\, research institute\, hospitals\, foundations an
d/or companies from at least 3 different participating countries (besides
the partners). No more than two researchers can be from the same country.
Partners from other countries may be part of a consortium if they can secu
re their own funding.\n\n\n\n	Swiss-based applicants: must be eligible for
SNSF Project Funding (see EPFL Instructions for SNSF Project Funding) and
cannot participate in more than one proposal per call. Please contact res
earch@epfl.ch to verify your eligibility for the call. Proposals with over
lapping funding periods with ongoing SNSF grants are only approved if the
research projects pursue different goals in the context of this programme.
The SNSF exclusively funds research conducted for non-commercial purposes
.\n\n\nDuration: 36 months. No-cost extensions can be granted if allowed b
 y the country-specific regulations.\n\nFunding: depends on the country-spe
cific regulations. The SNSF has allocated CHF 1.2 M for 3-4 projects for 1
2-36 months for this call. The minimum financial request is CHF 50’000.\

via mySNF at the same deadline as the consortium applications are submitt
