DESCRIPTION:Established in Basel in 1943\, the Novartis foundation for med
 ical-biological research supports research in the field of medicine and me
 dically oriented biology/biochemistry. Projects with a Novartis drug as a 
 research focus are NOT eligible.\n\nIn particular\, the Foundation contrib
 utes to the advancement of the scientific career of young researchers (PhD
  / MD) offering a limited number of research fellowships at universities a
 nd research institutions outside of Switzerland.  \n\nWho can apply: youn
 g researchers (PhD / MD) at Swiss universities.\n\nFunding & Duration: Max
 . CHF 60’000 for up to 12 months.\n\n	The foundation’s fellowships hav
 e a maximum duration of 12 months\, but the fellow’s overall research st
 ay abroad must be longer than 1 year and be supported by other third party
  funding.\n	Eligible costs: cost of living and housing\, among others. Doe
 s NOT cover the research project\, which should be funded locally by the h
 ost university / institution.\n\n\nDeadlines: 1 February\, 15 May and 1 Oc
 tober (every year).\n\n\n	Please join to your application a Support letter
  / confirmation from the Host University / institution outside Switzerland
