DESCRIPTION:The Danish Foundation Novo Nordisk has launched a new call for
  its “Data Science Collaborative Research Programme”. The proposed res
 earch must fall within the scope of the NNF Data Science Initiative\, whic
 h aims to support the following key science areas:\n \n\n	Development of 
 new algorithms\, methods\, and technologies within data science\, artifici
 al intelligence (incl. machine learning and deep learning)\, data engineer
 ing\, data mining\, statistics\, applied math\, computer science\, big dat
 a analytics\, etc.\n	Applications of data science (as defined above) withi
 n NNF’s scientific focus areas: Biomedical and health science\, life sci
 ence and industrial applications promoting sustainability\, as well as nat
 ural and technical sciences with potential application in biotechnology or
  biomedicine.\n\n\nDoes NOT support: projects where the primary focus is o
 n financial or insurance data\, fraud detection\, advertisement\, social m
 edia\, social science or humanities\, security and mass surveillance\, def
 ense\, gaming\, etc.\n\nWho can apply: \n\n\n	The consortium can involve u
 p to 6 applicants.\n	The main applicant must be at least 50% affiliated to
  a Danish university\, hospital or other non-profit organization\, and mus
 t hold a teaching or training programme there.\n	Co-applicants can be base
 d anywhere in the world.\n	Consortia from within data science or across di
 sciplines (like medicine\, biology\, biotechnology\, physics\, chemistry\,
  etc.) are both eligible.\n	The collaboration need not to be a new one\, a
 nd the primary focus is scientific excellence and synergy in the collabora
 tion.\n	Industrial partners are NOT eligible.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: max
 . DKK 25 million (for max 6 applicants) for up to 5 years. The Foundation 
 will award up to DKK 60 million in total for this call. \nEligible cost
 s: personnel\, equipment\, data management\, materials\, consumables and s
 ervice\, collaborative activities\, conference participation\, publication
  costs\, bench fees\, admin support. Does NOT cover overheads.\n\nDeadline
  for the Expression of Interest: 16 March 2021 at 2 p.m. CET\nDeadline for
  full applications (upon invitation): 26 August 2021 at 2 p.m. CET\nDecisi
 on: end of December 2021\nStart of the project: between January and Decemb
