DESCRIPTION:The UK-based charity\, Wellcome Trust\, launched the Innovator
  Awards to support researchers who are transforming great ideas into healt
 hcare innovations that could have a significant and measurable impact on h
 uman health. You can work in any discipline on any type of technology:\n\n
 	Priority focus areas: diagnostics\, drug repurposing\, mental health\, bu
 t also neglected tropical diseases\, neurological disorders and rare disea
 ses. Applications from other areas may be considered.\n	Examples of techno
 logies: therapeutics (small molecules or biologics)\, vaccines\, device\, 
 digital technology and regenerative medicine. \n\n\nWho can apply:\n\n\n	
 Researchers worldwide and not established commercial organisation without 
 working capital\n	Multidisciplinary collaboration grants: must include res
 earchers from at least 2 different scientific disciplines and at least 1 o
 utside the life sciences.\n	A Letter of Institutional Support is compulsor
 y for applicants who do not hold a tenured or permanent post.\n	If you alr
 eady hold an Innovator Award\, you can apply again\, but for a different i
 nnovation.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: \n\n\n	Individual grants: Max. £500\,
 000 for up to 24 months\n	Multidisciplinary collaborations: Max £750\,000
  for up to 36 months\n\n\nEligible costs:\n\n\n	salary (except for PI hold
 ing a tenured or permanent post)\, materials and consumables\, animals\, a
 ccess charges to equipment and facilities\, travel and subsistence\, publi
 cations costs and other.\n	Does NOT cover overheads and large equipment.\n
