DESCRIPTION:The Open Research Fund of the Wellcome Trust supports research
 ers who want to develop\, pilot and evaluate innovative approaches to make
  health research open\, accessible and reusable. To be eligible\, you must
  propose to trial innovative tools\, resources or ways of working and to e
 valuate the impact\, benefits and risks of your work. Both new and existin
 g activities will be considered. Interdisciplinary\, intersectoral and tra
 nsnational proposals are encouraged.\n \nExamples of eligible activities:
 \n\n	making outputs findable\, accessible\, interoperable and reusable (FA
 IR)\n	developing open platforms or tools\n	improving research reproducibil
 ity\n	speeding up ways to find and share data\n	looking at the role blockc
 hain technology could play\n	testing new metrics to evaluate open research
 \n	embedding incentives to adopt open research approaches\n	developing cro
 wdsourcing to increase participation in research\n\n \nWho can apply:\n\n
 \n	Researchers with a PhD or equivalent based at an academic research orga
 nisation\, a not-for-profit body or a private sector organisation anywhere
  in the world.\n	Individual researchers or teams (up to 6 members).\n\n \
 nFunding & Duration: max. £ 100\,000 for up to 24 months.\n\n\n	Eligible 
 costs: salaries (incl. the PI’s)\; development costs\; licensing and com
 putational costs\; activities to manage and share data\, software or mater
 ials\; dissemination and engagement costs\; costs of evaluating your proje
 ct\; contingency costs\; VAT.\n	Non eligible costs: publication costs (inc
 l. open access)\; overheads\; maintenance and support for ongoing running 
 costs of an existing database\, software tool or other resource\, unless t
 his involves the development of significant new functionality to benefit o
