 \n\n\nThe 6th IAHR Europe Congress (Warsaw\, Poland) will be held online f
 rom 15th-18th February 2021)\nIn addition\, a special session on the topic
  HS1-"Reservoir sedimentation: processes and management strategies" will b
 e held as a live-webinar on Thursday\, 18th of February\, from 11:45-13:05
  consisting of “180s-talks” followed by 5 minutes discussions.\n\nMoti
 vation:\nSedimentation reduces dam reservoir storage capacity and the bene
 fits derived therefrom\, such as flood and drought control\, hydropower\, 
 water supply\, irrigation\, fish and wild life conservation\, and recreati
 on. In addition\, the sediment imbalance throughout the water system cause
 d by dams operated without sediment management facilities may lead to sign
 ificant infrastructure and environmental damages both upstream and downstr
 eam of the reservoir. This special session provides a platform for contrib
 utions related to understanding sediment transport processes within reserv
 oirs and developing effective strategies to counter sedimentation. Current
  research from laboratory\, numerical\, and field studies will be presente
 d.\n\n
