DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Lung Cancer Res
 earch Program (LCRP) Awards. The FY21 LCRP Career Development Award suppor
 ts early-career\, independent investigators to conduct impactful research 
 under the mentorship of an experienced lung cancer researcher as an opport
 unity to obtain the funding\, mentoring\, and experience necessary for pro
 ductive\, independent careers at the forefront of lung cancer research.  
 This award is intended to support impactful research projects with an emph
 asis on discovery. Preliminary data are not required. \nIn addition\, all
  applications for LCRP funding must specifically address at least one of t
 he Areas of Emphasis as directed by Congress and have direct relevance to 
 military health. The FY21 LCRP Topic Areas are listed at the end of this a
 nnouncement.\n\nFunding:        max. $250’000\n\nDuration:    
   2 years\n\nEligibility: An eligible PI\, regardless of ethnicity\, nati
 onality\, or citizenship status\, must be employed by or affiliated with a
 n eligible organization. All organizations\, including foreign organizatio
 ns\, foreign public entities\, and international organizations\, are eligi
 ble to apply. It is not required that the PI and the Mentor be located at 
 the same institution. \n\n	The PI must be an independent investigator at t
 he level of Assistant Professor\, Instructor\, or equivalent and be within
  5 years of their first faculty appointment by the time of the application
  submission deadline\n	The PI must not have received a Career Development 
 Award (or equivalent) previously from any program within the CDMRP.\n	The 
 PI must not have received more than $300\,000 in total direct costs for pr
 evious or concurrent lung cancer research as a PI of one or more federally
  or privately funded\, non mentored\, peer-reviewed grants.\n	The PI’s i
 nstitution must demonstrate a commitment to the PI through confirmation of
  laboratory space and at least 40% protected time for lung cancer research
 .\n\n\nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP plat
 form. They should contain contact information\, a letter of intent\, and a
  list of collaborators and key personnel as suggested on the platform. Ful
