DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) has commissioned ETHZ as Leading House for bilateral research colla
 boration with the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).\n
  \nETHZ and JSPS run the Japanese – Swiss Young Researcher’s Exchange
  Programme to:\n\n	foster and facilitate the direct exchange between Japan
 ese and Swiss research groups and\n	enable the mobility of early-career re
 searchers\, allowing them to learn a new technique or use infrastructure d
 irectly relevant to their current research project.\n\n \nThe programme f
 unds research stays of 3-6 months in any disciplines \n\n\n	in Japan for S
 wiss-based young researchers and (apply via ETHZ).\n	in Switzerland for yo
 ung researchers from Japan (apply via JSPS).\n\n\nETHZ and JSPS expect to 
 fund 7–10 fellowships within the present call from each side.\n \nWho c
 an apply\n\n\n	Swiss-based applicants: PhD students and\, in exceptional a
 nd justified cases\, postdocs and Master’s students\, employed at Swiss 
 universities\, universities of applied sciences\, universities of teacher 
 education and research institutes. Who can NOT apply: Japanese nationals a
 nd former grantees under the JSPS’s Postdoctoral Fellowships for Foreign
  Researchers.\n	Host researchers in Japan: employed full-time (excluding j
 okyo\, assistant professor and joshu\, research assistant) at an eligible 
 institutions.\n	Applicants based in Japan\, who are interested in a resear
 ch stay in Switzerland\, must apply via JSPS.\n\n \nFunding:\n\n\n	For Sw
 iss-based applicants going to Japan: monthly allowance of JPY 220’000\, 
 international air ticket and overseas travel insurance.\n	For applicants b
 ased in Japan going to Switzerland: monthly allowance of CHF 2’500 and m
 ax. CHF 2’000 for a return flight ticket.\n\n \nDuration: 3-6 months\n
  \nDeadline: 30 June 2021\nDecision: October 2021\nEarliest start: mid-De
