DESCRIPTION:Prof. Emmanouil (Manos) Chaniotakis\n10:00 – 11:00 – Prof.
Emmanouil (Manos) Chaniotakis\nLecturer (Assistant Professor) at Universi
ty College London\, UK\n\nModelling Emerging Mobility Concepts: Mobility a
s a Service and Smart Parking\n\nThe plurality of mobility related options
is increasing with a fast pace. Emerging mobility concepts\, such as Mobi
lity as a Service and other technology-enabled application are receiving a
ttention from the scientific community\, as they disrupt or are expected t
o disrupt transportation. This seminar explores modelling of emerging mobi
lity concepts that fall under the Mobility as a Service umbrella\, focusin
g on two cases: a) multimodal journey planning and b) parking reservation
systems. For the first case\, a journey planning modelling framework is pr
esented including the formulation of a dynamic\, multimodal and multi-crit
eria journey planner for MaaS applications\, for a time-dependent multimod
al and multi-attribute supernetwork model. Two novel label-setting and lab
el-correcting approaches are introduced to generate both exact and heurist
ic Pareto MaaS journeys. For the second case\, a parking-reservation syste
m is investigated\, on the premises of a stochastic user equilibrium (SUE)
traffic assignment for habitual parking users that integrates the notion
of equilibrated parking search routes. Implications related to decarbonisa
tion and transport efficiency are discussed.\n\n\nShort bio:\nEmmanouil (M
anos) Chaniotakis is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at MaaSLab\, UCL Ene
rgy Institute\, University College London (UCL)\, United Kingdom. He holds
a diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki (AUTh)\, an MSc degree in Transportation Infrastructure and
Logistics from Delft University of Technology (TUDelft)\, and a PhD from T
echnical University of Munich (TUM). Manos’ research focuses on modellin
g and simulation of transportation systems\, demand modelling\, and decarb
onisation in Transportation. He has been involved in various European and
national projects. He has authored more than 30 scientific publications in
peer-reviewed journals\, conferences\, and books. He is a member of sever
al professional and scientific organizations and a frequent reviewer for m
 any scientific journals and conferences.\n
