DESCRIPTION:The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine is an Associat
 ion of individuals founded in March 1982 in Geneva.\n\nIn 2021\, ESICM has
  made available EUR 245’000 to support qualified investigators - from yo
 ung specialists to more established investigators and clinicians - to carr
 y out basic and clinical research projects to develop\, acquire\, and appl
 y advanced research procedures and techniques in the area of intensive car
 e medicine within a 12-24-month work period in a European country or in a 
 Low- & Middle-Income Country (LMIC).\n\nThe following grants are available
  for 2021:\n\n	ESICM Young Investigator Award\n	ESICM Established Investig
 ator Award\n	ESICM Clinical Research Award\n	ESICM Basic Science Award\n	E
 SICM Levi-Montalcini Biomedical Science Award\n	Next Start-Up Grant Award\
 n	Global ICU Award\n	Family Partnership Award\n	Professor Burkhard Lachman
 n Award for Experimental Research\n	ESICM – Fisher&Paykel Healthcare Awa

 Who can apply: Applicants must be ESICM members. They must possess appropr
 iate professional qualifications and experience according to the specific 
 Award applied for. Physicians\, scientists\, nurses or health-allied profe
 ssionals are eligible for the Awards. Applications from nurses and health-
 allied professionals not holding a PhD should be supported by a research s
 upervisor (M.D. or Ph.D). Applicants must be actively engaged in intensive
  care or in intensive care research\, with appropriate scientific or medic
 al qualifications.\n\nFunding & Duration: EUR 15’000 – 50’000 depend
 ing on the research award selected (see page 3 of the call guidelines) for
  12-24 months.\n\nDeadline for outline proposals: 1 May 2021. \n\nFor fur
