DESCRIPTION:The European Commission is launching the first European hackat
 hon under the new CASSINI Space Entrepreneurship Initiative. To create a t
 ruly European spirit\, the event will be happening in 10 countries simulta
 neously\, connected through an online virtual hub. Space4Impact is the loc
 al organizer for the first Swiss CASSINI Hackathon that runs virtually on 
 18-20 June 2021.\n\nThe European Commissions’ new CASSINI initiative wan
 ts to stimulate the use of data delivered by the European flagship program
 mes Copernicus for earth observation and Galileo/EGNOS for satellite navig
 ation in sectors beyond the space environment. The goal is to bring togeth
 er students\, start-ups\, young entrepreneurs\, and researchers from all o
 ver Europe to offer them an attractive environment for developing innovati
 ve applications in response to a globally relevant challenge.\n\nThe topic
  of the first CASSINI hackathon is Digitising Green Spaces and focuses on 
 three main challenges: 1) Discover your city\, 2) Stay fit & healthy\, and
  3) Protect your rural areas. The participants will benefit from technical
  training sessions and showcase their solutions publicly. Among the prizes
  for the local winners in Switzerland are cash prizes of a total 10 000 CH
 F\, an option to join the EPFL Startup Launchpad\, and a UZH Digital Entr
 epreneurship Grant. The best Swiss team will compete amongst the 10 best E
 uropean teams to win access to a high-profile mentoring and coaching schem
 e as part of the CASSINI Space Entrepreneurship Initiative.\n\nFor the 1st
