DESCRIPTION:Summary of the program:\nERC Advanced Grants are for establish
 ed\, leading scientists who seek funding for ambitious research projects. 
 The proposed research should address important challenges\, introduce nove
 l concepts and approaches and lead to significant breakthroughs.\n\nThe ER
 C Advanced Grant call 2021 is the first one in the framework of the new Eu
 ropean research program “Horizon Europe”. Swiss researchers are encour
 aged to submit project-proposals for the upcoming deadline on the 31st of 
 August 2021. As long as the negotiations for the association of Switzerlan
 d to Horizon Europe are ongoing\, Switzerland is treated as an associated 
 country.\nUpdates on the association of Switzerland and related questions 
 are provided by the State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovat
 ion.\n\nWho can apply:\nResearchers who are applying through host institut
 ions in Switzerland are currently unable to submit applications for the ER
 C grants.\nApplicants to the ERC Advanced Grants are expected to be outsta
 nding research leaders with a track record of significant research achieve
 ments in the last 10 years. They should be exceptional leaders in terms of
  originality and significance of their research contributions.\n\nFunding 
 & Duration:\nAn amount of EUR 2.5 million can be claimed for a period of 5
  years. An additional EUR 1 million may be requested for “start-up” if
  moving from a third country\, the purchase of major equipment\, access to
  large facilities and/or major experimental and field work costs.\n\nSubmi
 ssion deadline:\nThe call 2021 opens on the 20th of May with a deadline fo
 r proposal submissions on the 31st of August this year.\n\nFor further inf
