DESCRIPTION:The Federal Council has mandated the SNSF to launch a call for
  the National Research Programme "Advancing 3R – Animals\, Research and 
 Society" (NRP 79).\n\nThe call targets research in three focal areas:\n\n	
 Innovation: research contributing to the effective application of the 3Rs 
 in the real world.\n	Implementation: research conforming on barriers to th
 e implementation of the 3Rs\, proposing strategies for overcoming these ba
 rriers and facilitating the application of existing knowledge.\n	Ethics an
 d society: research into ethical\, conceptual and societal issues connecte
 d with the 3Rs and the use of animals for scientific purposes.\n\n\nPropos
 als with an inter- or multidisciplinary character embracing the goals of m
 ore than one focal area will be given preference.\n\n2 Types of funding:\n
  \n\n	Postdoctoral fellowships: for postdocs with initial experience in p
 roject management\, employed by a Swiss institution for the entire duratio
 n of the fellowship. The fellowships must start max. 5 years after the PhD
  defense date. Please contact research@epfl.ch at least 7 working days pri
 or to the deadline for the institutional support letter (template availabl
 e in the EPFL Toolkit).\n\n \n\n\n	Project funding: for individual applic
 ants or team of applicants who are independent. Possibility to involve res
 earch groups abroad.\n\n\nFunding: CHF 300K - 1M but budgets below or abov
 e this range are possible if sufficiently justified.\n\nDuration: 36-48 mo
 nths starting mid-May to mid-November 2022. No extensions.\n\nDeadline for
  pre-proposals: 3rd August 2021 at 17:00 Swiss local time.\n\nFor collabor
