DESCRIPTION:1. Aim\nThe proportion of women staying in academic career ten
 ds to decrease with each career step. The tendency of a “leaky pipeline
 ” is particularly evident at the stages of the academic career after the
  PhD level. In order to keep outstanding female scientists and at the same
  time substantiate their excellence in science\, thereby supporting them i
 n their academic career\, NCCR QSIT has launched an INSPIRE award for post
 docs. The grants scheme thus aims to increase the number of women research
 ers in research fields related to the partaking laboratories.\n2. Candidat
 es\nThe scheme targets female PhD students and future postdocs about to st
 art their postdoc\, who\n\n	demonstrate their motivation and potential to 
 conduct their postdoc research project in a laboratory of a principal inve
 stigator from NCCR QSIT\n	meet the requirements for enrolment at the corr
 esponding host university/institution.\n\nCandidates can apply no later th
 an six months after starting their postdoc research project in a QSIT grou
 p.\n\n3. Award\n\n\n	CHF 10'000 for travel and small equipment expenditure
 s.\n	Mentoring in a stimulating research environment.\n	Social and network
 ing events with students and researchers from the NCCR.\n\nNote: This is n
 ot a salary substitute. The award should be used for professional expendit
 ures\, such as travelling\, conference visits\, etc.  \n4. Application pr

 s: All documents should be in English. Diplomas in French\, German or Ital
 ian will be accepted\, too.\n\n	Résumé (Curriculum vitae) including a li
 st of publications and scientific achievements\n	Motivation letter\n	Caree
 r plan\n	letter of acceptance from the host laboratory for the postdoc\n	T
 wo recommendation letters (recommended)\n	Copy of your University degree(s
 ) / transcripts from all grades\n	Copy of identity card or passport (forei
 gners who live in Switzerland: + residence permit)\n	If available: documen
 ts such as TOEFL or GRE scores\n\n5. Selection\nSelection is done on a com
 petitive basis by members from the NCCR QSIT Scientific Committee. Candida
 tes receive an answer about their application by email at the beginning of
  February/July. The selected candidates are asked to confirm their venue w
 ithin 2 weeks. Otherwise\, the award may be attributed to another candidat
 e.\nThe award is granted only to selected applicants who have a postdoc po
 sition at one of the QSIT labs. Selected candidates are asked to start the
 ir postdoc research in the host laboratory within 8 months. Payment of the
  award money is subject to ongoing activity of the postdoc project.
