DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) mandated the ETH Zurich as Leading House for bilateral collaboratio
 n with partner institutions in Asia.  In 2021\, the Leading House Asia op
 ened a call for proposals for Research Partnership Grants with China (incl
 . Hong Kong and Taiwan)\, Japan\, South Korea and the ASEAN member states.
 \n\nWho can apply: \n\n	Postdoctoral scientists\, senior scientists and pr
 ofessors of Swiss federal and cantonal universities\, universities of appl
 ied sciences\, universities of teacher education\, as well as public resea
 rch institutions.\n	The main applicant must be employed at one of the afor
 ementioned Swiss institutions.\n	The proposal has to include at least one 
 co-applicant from one of the partner countries. Asian researchers interest
 ed in acting as co-​applicants on the Asian side have to contact their S
 witzerland-​based peers.\n\n\nFunding: up to CHF 25’000.-\n\nDuration:
  up to 12 months\n\nFor what:\n\n\n	This instrument is to allow researcher
 s to conduct feasibility studies or pilot projects in order to apply for g
 rants from larger funding agencies.\n	A Research Partnership Grant builds 
 on existing collaborations projects between researchers and scientists aff
 iliated to a Swiss institution and researchers from the partner country.\n
 	Research Partnership Grants can fund the preparation of a joint project p
 roposal for submission to large funding agencies or research projects to d
 evelop a long-​​​term partnerships between two institutions or chair
 s.\n	Activities to intensify joint teaching or curriculum development are 
 also covered by the grant.\n	The call is open to all disciplines.\n\n\nEli
 gible costs: \n\n\n	Travel\, accommodation costs\, project consumables and
  equipment\, logistics and salary (only for proposal development). \n	A fi
 nancial contribution of each partner is expected and must be made explicit
  in cash and in-kind.\n\n\nCall timeline:\n\n\n	Application deadline: 30 S
 eptember 2021\n	Decision: December 2021\n	Earliest project start: February
