CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:CORNET is a network of ministries and funding agencies that co
mbine their existing funding schemes to increase the competitiveness of sm
all and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In this way\, CORNET supports new
funding organisations worldwide to introduce pilot actions and schemes fo
 r pre-competitive Collective Research.\n\nThis CORNET Call for Proposals i
s based on existing funding programmes for (collective) research in the pa
rticipating countries/regions. As for the previous CORNET Calls\, the adde
d value is to make international collaboration possible for these national
/regional programmes\, whereby every project participant will be funded by
the funding organisation of their own country or region.\n\nIn CORNET at
least two countries/regions that have a funding organisation participating
in the CORNET call need to submit a joint proposal requiring three entiti
es per applicant:\n\n	SME association\, organization or group\, that submi
ts and coordinates the project\n	Research and Technology Organisation (RTO
)\, that is (sub-)contracted to perform the research activities\n	User Com
mittee consisting of min. 5 SMEs per country\, which guides the research\,
ensures the pre-competitive character and benefits from the results.\n\nT
he specific competencies of the various countries/regions are combined to
build up a level of knowledge and know-how\, which could not be obtained b
y one single participant or by a set of individual participants working in
parallel. There is no thematic focus in the CORNET Calls for Proposals.\n
\nThe main types of targeted activities are:\n\n	industrial research and d
evelopment\n	applied research and development\n\n\nThe main eligibility cr
iterion is that proposals address Collective Research\, meaning:\n\n\n	It
serves the need of a wide grouping of companies\, mostly SMEs\n	Knowledge
transfer (dissemination) is an integral part of Collective Research\n	Coll
ective Research is pre-competitive\, meaning research and development in w
hich there is collaboration but no competition.\n\n\nA second essential cr
iterion is to demonstrate clearly the significant added value\, when perfo
rming the research on an international scale.\n\nEvery project participant
is funded by their own country/region funding organisation\, according to
their specific rules\, for Swiss-based applicants the Swiss Federal Offic
e of Energy SFOE. The application has to be in line with the research topi
c laid out in the master plan of energy research established by the SFOE.
It is recommended to contact the head of the appropriate research programm
e well before submitting a complete application.\n\nDuration: max. 24 mont
hs\n\nFunding:\n\n\n	Maximum funding for Swiss-based applicants: not speci
 fied\n	Eligible costs: personnel\, travel & subsistence\, equipment\, mate
 rial\, consumables\, equipment depreciation\, subcontracting costs / expen
ditures that are not part of R&D\n\n\nSubmission:\nSubmission by the coord
inator of the consortium on CORNET Submission Tool\, and parallel submissi
on by each partners to their own national/regional funding organization us
ing the local application template and referring to the CORNET project pro
posal.\n\nApplications for financial support of the Swiss research contrib
ution can only be considered if submitted in the official SFOE template\,
with a draft of the full CORNET proposal and other relevant information 30
days prior to the deadline of the CORNET call\n\nDeadlines: \n\n\n	29 Sep
 tember 2021 at 12 p.m. noon (CET).\n	For Swiss researchers\, the deadline
for submission to SFOE is 30 August 2021.\n\n\nFor further information\, p
lease have a look at the call webpage\, call guidelines\, application temp
lates\, National Eligibility Criteria\, guidelines for Swiss applicants or
