DESCRIPTION:The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerlan
 d (HES-SO) manages the Leading House for the Middle East and North Africa 
 (LHMENA).\n\nAfter a first four-year mandate during which 35 mobility stay
 s\, research collaborations and innovation projects received LHMENA’s su
 pport\, LHMENA is pleased to announce its activities for 2021-2024.\n\nPro
 gramme\nFor this new mandate\, the focus will be put on research projects.
  A regular instrument\, the "Research partnership grants"\, will be launch
 ed three years in a row. It will be followed by a more important instrumen
 t\, the “Consolidation grants”\, launched in the second half of the ma
 ndate. Each call will be announced on the Leading House’s website. The s
 chedule for the next four years will be as follows:\n \nInstrumentMaximum

  grants (CHF 15\,000 per project) open in September 2021 and close in Dece
 mber 2021.\n	Research partnership grants (CHF 15\,000 per project) open in
  May 2022 and close in September 2022.\n	Research partnership grants (CHF 
 15\,000 per project) open in May 2023 and close in September 2023.\n	Conso
 lidation grants (CHF 40\,000 per project) open in May 2023 and close in Se
 ptember 2023.\n\nEligible countries\nOther important change\, these instru
 ments are now open to all countries of the MENA region\, which are: Algeri
 a\, Bahrain\, Egypt\, Iraq\, Jordan\, Kuwait\, Lebanon\, Libya\, Morocco\,
  Oman\, Qatar\, Saudi Arabia\, Syria\, Occupied Palestinian territory\, Tu
 nisia\, United Arab Emirates\, Yemen. Conditions and eligibility criteria 
 will be specified in the regulation of each call.\n\nKick-off\nThe Leading
  House organises a kick-off event to present its new funding instruments a
 nd\, more generally\, to bring together the people in Switzerland who coll
 aborate with the MENA region.\nIt will also be the occasion to present som
 e of the projects that were supported by the Leading House MENA during the
  2017-2020 mandate.\n\nThis kick-off event will take place on Monday 18th 
 October\, from 2pm to 6pm\, in Fribourg and online. Detailed information a
 nd registration will be available soon on our website the Leading House’
