CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim:\nThe Outcome Measures Parkinson's Pathway Molecular Data
Analysis Program aims to identify and characterize novel biomarkers and cr
itical pathways from existing molecular data sets. This funding opportunit
y is intended for applications using existing and novel computational\, in
formatic\, and data science strategies to interrogate molecular data sets
relevant to Parkinson's disease.\n\nApplications should focus on studies t
hat achieve one or more of the following goals:\n\n	Comparisons of analyte
s across complementary cohorts to identify or evaluate performance of puta
tive biomarkers\n	Evaluation of underexplored genetic variants associated
with PD risk and correlates with clinical or molecular features of disease
.\n	Identification of novel molecular indicators of phenoconversion and/or
PD subtyping.\n	Integrated analysis of multi-omic data sets to identify a
nd characterize critical pathways disrupted in Parkinson’s disease\n	Ide
ntification of novel genotype-phenotype implications on molecular features
of disease\n	Characterization of molecular indicators of the role of the
immune system in PD risk and patient outcomes.\n	Identification or evaluat
ion of molecular indicators of lysosomal and endosomal function\, dysfunct
ion\, or functional diversity relevant to PD risk and penetrance\n\nAmount
: Applicants may request budgets ranging from $50\,000 to $350\,000 for pr
ojects meeting the application criteria. Requested budget amount will not
correlate with prioritization for funding. Requested support should be com
mensurate with work proposed and must include clear explanation of costs.\
 nDeadline: \n\n\n	Pre-proposals Due: September 28\, 2021\, 5 p.m. US ET\n
Full Proposals Due (by invite only): January 13\, 2022\, 5 p.m. US ET\n\nD
uration: 12 to 18 months\nEligibility: Applications may be submitted by re
 searchers or clinicians in:\n\n\n	U.S. and non-U.S. biotechnology/pharmace
utical companies\, or other publicly or privately held for-profit entities
 \; and\n	U.S. and non-U.S. public and private non-profit entities\, such a
 s universities\, colleges\, hospitals\, laboratories\, units of state and
local governments and eligible agencies of the federal government.\n	Post-
doctoral fellows are eligible to apply as co-investigators with the design
ation of an administrative primary investigator who directs the laboratory
in which the fellow will conduct research. The administrative co-PI will
be responsible for assisting in providing all institutional documents requ
ired for the project and will be required to sign any award contract. Trai
ning or mentoring-only proposals will not be considered.\n\nHow to Apply:\
n\n\n	Download the RFA overview and application template.  \n	Log in or
create an account in the grant application portal.\n	Submit your completed
  application. \n\nFor Further Information: \n\n\n	Email grants@michaeljfo
x.org with specific questions\n	Contact the Research Office at research@ep
fl.ch for general questions and if you decide to submit a proposal\n
