DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) has commissioned Swiss TPH with support from the University of Base
 l as Leading House for bilateral collaboration with partner institutions i
 n Africa.  In 2021\, the Leading House Africa (LH) opened a call for prop
 osals for Research Partnership Grants.\n\nThe goal of the Research Partner
 ship Grants is to further develop\, consolidate and expand relations and f
 oster new collaborations between Swiss researchers and partners in Africa.
 \n\nProposals are expected from the following two areas:\n\n	Humanities\, 
 Arts and Social Sciences\,\n	STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering and 
 Mathematics) including biological sciences and medicine.\n\n\nThe call aim
 s at awarding an equal balance of proposals from both areas.\n\nWho can ap
 ply: \n\n\n	Advanced PhD students and early postdoctoral researchers of Sw
 iss federal and cantonal universities\, universities of applied sciences\,
  universities of teacher education\, as well as public research institutio
 ns.\n	The Lead PI must be employed at one of the aforementioned Swiss inst
 itutions.\n	Eligible Partner Countries: All African countries\, except Mag
 hreb region and Egypt\n\n\nFunding: up to CHF 15’000\n\nDuration: up to 
 10 months\n\nEligible costs: travel\, accommodation costs\, project consum
 ables and equipment. Does NOT cover research projects\, salaries or scient
 ific exchanges. Overheads are not eligible.\n\nCall timeline:\n\n\n	Applic
 ation deadline: 15 September 2021\n	Decision: 30 October 2021\n	Earliest p
