SUMMARY:DARPA Assessing Immune Memory (AIM) call for proposals
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20211026
DTSTAMP:20260407T163359Z
UID:df867ce186aa6c36fa2477c337182a004d9df628d87b9898be70e782
CATEGORIES:Conferences - Seminars
DESCRIPTION:Amount:\nThe proposed costs must be realistic for the technica
l and management approach and accurately reflect the technical goals and o
bjectives of the solicitation.  These costs are consistent with the propo
ser's Statement of Work and reflect a sufficient understanding of the cost
s and level of effort needed to successfully accomplish the proposed techn
 ical approach.\n\nDuration:\n48 months\n\nAim:\nMilitary service members r
ely on effective vaccination for the prevention of communicable disease as
well as to guard against biothreat exposure. Many current vaccines lack d
urability (i.e.\, do not provide effective protection over long periods of
time)\, and there are multiple pathogens and threats that lack prophylact
ic options altogether. It is currently impossible to predict vaccine durab
ility from early response profiles\, largely owing to ignorance of mechani
sms underlying immune memory as well as an inability to measure the cellul
ar contributors that invoke long-lasting immune protection. Formation of i
mmune memory is a complex physiological process characterized by a diverse
array of cellular interactions and signaling processes. AIM seeks to deve
lop a platform capability to predict immune memory informed by a systems-l
evel view of the host response to vaccination and its mechanisms.\n\nEligi
bility:\n\n	All responsible sources capable of satisfying the Government
’s needs may submit a proposal that shall be considered by DARPA.\n	Non-
U.S. organizations and/or individuals may participate to the extent that s
uch participants\n	comply with any necessary nondisclosure agreements\, se
curity regulations\, export control laws\,\n	and other governing statutes
 applicable under the circumstances.\n\nHow to apply:\n\nAgency Contact:\nT
he BAA Coordinator for this effort may be reached at:\nAIM@darpa.mil\nDARP
 A/BTO\nATTN: HR001121S0037\n675 North Randolph Street\nArlington\, VA 2220
3-2114\nThe Research Office strongly encourages interested investigators t
o contact the BAA Coordinator PRIOR to working on the proposal.  The Coor
dinator is available to discuss project ideas\, budget\, etc.\n\nEPFL Cont
