DESCRIPTION:Prof. Christos Panagopoulos\, Nanyang Technological University
\, Singapore\nWe created hybrid materials in which superconductivity and m
agnetism interact through their particle-like topological excitations. Mag
netic nano-skyrmions inject flux tubes into superconductors\, creating a b
ound pair of topological solitons. This flux is oriented antiparallel to t
he external magnetic field and hence forms antivortices\, which modify the
net magnetization of our materials and their flux dynamics. We also detec
t signatures of circulating spin-polarized supercurrents. The observed cou
pling of spin and flux topologies demonstrates the viability of such archi
tectures for engineering nontrivial topology in quantum matter. It offers
an adaptable recipe to create and study topological superconductivity for
 quantum operations.  \n
