  side of a joint work with T. Browning and L. Matthiesen. The Hasse princi
 ple and weak approximation for certain complete intersections of quadrics\
 , established by methods of additive combinatorics\, lead to new cases whe
 n the Brauer-Manin obstruction controls the Hasse principle and weak appro
 ximation. Among these cases are del Pezzo surfaces of low degree and fibra
 tions into conics and 2-dimensional quadrics.
