 estigate numerically under which conditions and with which results industr
 ial waste heat with a magnetic energy conversion machine can be economical
 ly utilized\, and if it presents a possible alternative to some convention
 al energy conversion technologies. The application of numerical models lea
 ds to the thermodynamic efficiency\, the exergy efficiency\, and approxima
 te values of the total mass and the total volume of a magnetic energy conv
 ersion machine as a function of its produced power. An economic feasibilit
 y study has been performed and shows an excellent potential of profitabili
 ty for certain machines. The most important result of this study is that m
 agnetic energy conversion may beat conventional technologies in a technica
 l and economic manner. This is especially the case\, if large low-exergy h
 eat sources are at ones disposal
