 i\nThe Collaborative Research on Science and Society (CROSS) Program encou
 rages interdisciplinary projects that deal with current issues in society 
 and technology\, and that are carried out as a collaboration between resea
 rchers from EPFL and the University of Lausanne (UNIL).\n\nEach year\, up 
 to six projects are financially supported by the CROSS program. These prop
 osals bring together specialists in the humanities and social sciences on 
 the one hand\, and specialists in the life sciences\, natural sciences or 
 engineering sciences on the other.\n\nCROSS is a springboard for interdisc
 iplinary projects. With this financial support of up to 60\,000 CHF per pr
 oject\, researchers can test a one-year collaboration on a research topic 
 uniting EPFL and UNIL.\n\nThis afternoon of demos and discussions will all
 ow participants to investigate such questions as:\n\n	What are the opportu
 nities and challenges of interdisciplinary research?\n	How does a research
  project involving UNIL and EPFL teams work?\n	Is the CROSS grant a truly 
 enabler of research-society linkages?\n\nThis event is open to all interes
