DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and Physical Scienc
 es (MPS) division invites applications for its Targeted Grants in MPS prog
 ram. The program is intended to support high-risk theoretical mathematics\
 , physics and computer science projects of exceptional promise and scienti
 fic importance on a case-by-case basis.\n\nDuration:      5 years\n\nF
 unding:        Project-specific\n\nEligibility: Applications may be 
 submitted by established U.S. and foreign public and private educational i
 nstitutions and stand-alone research centers. PIs and co-Investigators mus
 t have a Ph.D. and a tenure-track or tenured position at said institutions
  or centers. There are no citizenship or department requirements for PIs.\
 n\nHow to Apply: Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through p
 roposalCENTRAL\; the LOI should include a research plan and a tentative bu
 dget. The deadline is rolling and an LOI can be submitted at any time. You
  will be notified of the LOI’s status within two months\, at which time 
 a full proposal may be requested. At the full proposal stage\, a Signature
  Page will be required\; contact the Research Office for the institutional
