  present a recently introduced notion of lack of regularity for a function
  and show that it allows to prove that irregular functions have interestin
 g analytic properties\, in particular with respect to their role as pertur
 bations in ODEs and PDEs where they have a regularising effect. In the sto
 chastic literature this surprising behaviour is usually called “regulari
 sation by noise” but here we will show how regularisation is an analytic
  phenomenon independent of a probabilistic model.
