 fl.ch\n\nCourse Description\n\nThis day-long workshop is designed to metho
 dically help you put together an impactful 3MT presentation. Working with 
 your peers\, you will be taken through each step of building up a performa
 nce that is convincing both in content and delivery.\n\nThe course relies 
 on guided practice rather than theory. Exercises will focus on practical w
 ays of solving conceptual\, rhetorical and presentational problems. Each p
 resentation will be recorded\, and detailed feedback will be given by the 
 trainer and your peers\, highlighting what works\, and what can be improve
 d. There will be an opportunity to record your presentation again\, giving
  you a chance to incorporate improvements\, and so measure progress. You w
 ill also be given tips for further practice.\n\nWhat you will learn\n\n	Ho
 w to select meaningful material in a way that is accessible to a non-speci
 alist audience.\n	How to construct a convincing pitch.\n	How to memorise i
 t.\n	How to deliver it effectively\, confidently\, using words\, body lang
 uage and space to your advantage.\n	How to deal with mishaps.\n	How your s
 lide can help - or hinder.\n	How to use what you have learned for other\, 
 longer presentations.\n\nBeyond the 3MT competition\, which is fun and can
  help you raise your profile and win prizes\, 3MT training is a great way 
 to sharpen presentational skills. It helps think about effective ways of a
 ddressing both non-specialist  and specialist audiences\, and ultimately 
 can help build a "toolkit” that will be useful in many different public-
 speaking situations.\n\nTrainer\n\nEtienne Duval is a Franco-British train
 er and broadcast journalist. He trained the 2021 UK 3MT winner.\n
