DESCRIPTION:BiodivERsA is a network of 45 national and regional funding or
 ganisations\, including Switzerland (via the SNSF)\, promoting pan-Europea
 n research on biodiversity and ecosystem services\, and offering innovativ
 e opportunities for the conservation and sustainable management of biodive
 rsity. BiodivERsA is funded under the Horizon 2020 ERA-NET COFUND scheme.\
 n\nThe 2021-2022 joint call focuses on “Supporting the protection of bio
 diversity and ecosystems across land and sea”. This call aims to support
  transnational research projects (3-years duration) addressing one or mor
 e of the three (non-exclusive) themes below:\n\n	THEME 1 – Knowledge fo
 r identifying priority conservation areas\, establishing effective and res
 ilient ecological networks\, enhancing species-based protection and preser
 ving genetic diversity\n	THEME 2 – Multiple benefits and costs of biodi
 versity and ecosystem protection: synergies and trade-offs\n	THEME 3 – 
 Effective management and equitable governance to deliver bold conservation
  outcome\n\n\nWho can apply: \n\n\n	Teams from at least 3 different partic
 ipating countries (at least 2 EU and associated countries)\, supported by 
 at least 3 different Funding Organisations. Use the BiodivERsA Partner Sea
 rch Tool to look for a partner.\n\n\n\n	Swiss-based applicants: all Swiss 
 applicants and co-applicants must be eligible for SNSF Project Funding (se
 e EPFL Instructions for SNSF Project Funding).\n	Consortium partners: part
 ners based outside of Switzerland. They must apply for funding via their n
 ational funding agency.\n\n\nFor Swiss-based applicants and co-applicants:
  \n\n\n	proposals with overlapping funding periods with ongoing SNSF grant
 s are only approved if the research projects pursue different goals in the
  context of this programme.\n	Swiss applicants may participate in at most 
 one BiodivERsA proposal.\n	The SNSF exclusively funds research conducted f
 or purposes that are not directly commercial.\n\n\nDuration: 36 months.\n\
 nFunding:\nThe SNSF has reserved a total of EUR 1’830’000 for this cal
 l. There is no limit to the requested budget per Partner and/or per Projec
 t. Please note that the aim of the call is to fund medium size projects (t
 ypically project of 1.2-1.5M€ on average). However\, this does not const
 itute a formal limit\, but an indication.\nThe eligible costs are the same
  as for SNSF Project Funding (see EPFL Instructions for SNSF Project Fundi
 ng). VAT should be included in your budget. Do NOT include overheads.\n\nI
