DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is pleased to o
 ffer a funding opportunity for investigator-initiated proposals to support
  research focused on addressing research questions highlighted in the Path
 ways to Cures Roadmap.\n \nThe Roadmap includes three Pathways: STOPPING 
 MS disease activity\, RESTORING function by reversing damage and symptoms\
 , and ENDING MS by preventing new cases. Applicants must clearly state the
  relevance of their proposals to at least one of the research questions ou
 tlined in the Roadmap. Refer to the Roadmap for more clarity\, and feel fr
 ee to reach out to Research staff listed below to discuss relevant topics.
 \n \nThe Society supports all types of research including laboratory mode
 ls\, human studies\, population-based approaches\, and data-intensive inve
 stigations that leverage both researcher and patient-reported outcomes. We
  value studies that:\n\n	promote synergies between researchers in diverse 
 disciplines\;\n	adhere to principles of sharing data and resources\;\n	foc
 us on underserved and understudied ethnic and racial MS populations\n\n\nF
 unding:       $200\,000/year (max.)\n\nDuration:      3 years (ma
 x.)\n\nEligibility: Applicants should possess an M.D.\, Ph.D. or equivalen
 t and be considered eligible by their institution to apply for grant suppo
 rt.\n\nHow to Apply: A brief pre-application is required to determine if a
  proposal is aligned with Society research priorities. Staff will review t
 he pre-application to  determine whether the research plan is appropriate
 \, relevant\, and aligned to the Pathways to Cures Roadmap. Once your pre-
 application has been approved you can  log in and begin to prepare the fu
