DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Postdoctoral Fellowships for Basic Scientists are i
 ntended for young scientists\, fresh from their Ph.D. training\, to study 
 at major research institutions. The Parkinson’s Foundation seeks researc
 h proposals from promising early career scientists that will directly impa
 ct the understanding of Parkinson’s disease or its treatment.\n\nFunding
 :         $124\,000\n\nDuration:        2 years\n\nEligibilit
 y: The applicant must be within five years of receiving his or her Ph.D. a
 t the time the award starts and must name an individual who will serve as 
 his or her research mentor and supervisor. This program is open to both na
 tional and international applicants. If awarded\, a Postdoctoral Fellow mu
 st commit 90 percent of his or her effort to the Parkinson's Foundation-fu
 nded project.\n\nHow to Apply: The Parkinson's Foundation requires a two-s
 tep application. Initially\, applicants must send a Letter of Intent (LOI)
 . If selected\, the applicant will be invited to submit a full-length prop
 osal. We will notify applicants invited to submit a full proposal at least
  six weeks prior to the full application deadline. All components of the a
 pplication must be submitted online through ProposalCentral\, the Foundati
