 er problem can be seen as the canonical one-dimensional analogue of Liouvi
 lle’s equation for prescribing Gaussian curvarture of a surface. Inspire
 d by features of complete integrability for Calogero-Moser NLS\, we develo
 p a general method to prove uniqueness results for the prescribed $Q$-curv
 ature problem in one space dimension. This talk is based on joint work wit
 h Maria Ahrend (Basel).
