The Archives de la construction moderne (ACM) have published online the inventory of the Fonds 0224 – Comité MESO (Métro Express du Sud-Ouest).
Created by a group of engineers and residents from western Lausanne, the MESO Committee aimed to study and promote a rail-based transport solution linking Lausanne-Flon to Renens, in a context of demographic growth and the development of new university campuses.
The fonds brings together a variety of documents that allow the committee’s activities and the evolution of its proposals to be traced. It includes, in particular:
– correspondence and minutes;
– project-related files and reports;
– brochures, communication material, and posters.
These records provide an overview of the different stages of the project’s design, promotion, and evaluation, as well as the exchanges between the committee, local authorities, and other stakeholders involved in discussions on mobility in western Lausanne. They also shed light on the context in which the TSOL project (now the M1 line) emerged and was eventually selected.
The inventory is now available online: https://morphe.epfl.ch/index.php/fonds-0224 The fonds can be consulted on site at the ACM.
