Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the 2026 Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) Awards. Several award programs are available:
  • The Clinical Trial Award supports rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to significantly impact ovarian cancer. Proposed projects may range from small, proof-of concept trials through large-scale, definitive trials, including early-phase or pilot clinical trials (phase 0, 1 or 1/2).
  • The Investigator-Initiated Research Award supports high-impact research that addresses a critical need and demonstrates the potential to make an important contribution to ovarian cancer or patient/survivor care.
  • The Ovarian Cancer Academy – Early-Career Investigator Award supports the addition of new early career investigators to the unique, interactive, virtual academy that provides intensive mentoring, national networking, collaborations and a peer group for junior faculty.
  • The Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trial Academy – Early Career Investigator Award supports the addition of new early career investigators to the unique, interactive, virtual Clinical Trial Academy that provides intensive mentoring, national networking, collaborations and a peer group for junior faculty.
  • The Pilot Award supports the exploration of innovative concepts or theories in ovarian cancer that could ultimately lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will drive the field forward.
Funding:      
  • Clinical Trial Award: max. $2.8M
  • Investigator-Initiated Research Award: $1.05M-$1.4M
  • Ovarian Cancer Academy – Early-Career Investigator Award: max. $ 1.125M
  • Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trial Academy – Early Career Investigator Award: max. $ 1.4M
  • Pilot Award: max. $350,000
Note: Cost caps are total costs (direct plus indirect costs). In accordance with EPFL guidelines, budgets should include a 20% overhead, and the total budget must remain within the grant’s maximum allowable funding

Duration
  • Clinical Trial Award: 4 years
  • Investigator-Initiated Research Award: 4 years
  • Ovarian Cancer Academy – Early-Career Investigator Award: 4 years
  • Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trial Academy – Early Career Investigator Award: 4 years
  • Pilot Award: 2 years
Eligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Programme-specific seniority levels are further defined here.

How to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact information, a letter of intent, and a list of collaborators and key personnel as suggested on the platform. Full applications will be made via a Grants.gov workspace.
