Every two years, the Zonta Award celebrates a top female researcher in Switzerland. The CHF 30,000 prize recognizes the excellence of women in science. Its aim is to help women scientists break through the glass ceiling. Founded on November 8, 1919, Le Zonta International now has 33,000 members in over 1,200 clubs in 68 countries, and a long tradition of openness to the sciences.

The most recent winner in Switzerland, Nako Nakatsuka, was a researcher at ETH Zurich when she was awarded the Zonta Award in 2023. She is now an assistant professor at EPFL. From now on, the award ceremony will alternate between ETH Zurich and EPFL. This year, the Swiss Zonta Award will be given to an EPFL researcher. Her name will be announced at the ceremony, during which she will present her research.

The President of EPFL, Professor Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, will be the patron of the event and will say a few words in introduction, alongside Béatrice Gass, President of Zonta Switzerland & Liechtenstein, and Professor Emeritus Martine Rahier, President of the Jury. The award ceremony, with the presentation of the prizewinner, will be followed by an aperitif at 19:30. Please use the registration link.
