The "Fondation Zeno Karl Schindler", a charitable organization, was established in 2005 by Jacqueline Schindler in Geneva. The Foundation annually awards an EPFL Prize (Zeno Karl Schindler/EPFL award), of CHF 20,000.-. This prize is awarded by the EPFL Awards Commission on behalf of the Zeno Karl Schindler Foundation. The purpose of the Zeno Karl Schindler/EPFL Prize is to distinguish postdoctoral work (high level research project and publications) of particular excellence performed at EPFL, in the field of environmental sciences and/or sustainability.

Eligibility Criteria

Postdocs max 5 years after PhD (following exceptions will be considered: maternity, paternity, adoption or parental leave / inability to work due to illness or accident / continuing education)

Resubmission limited (1 time only)

Candidates can be nominated by EPFL professors, or they can apply directly to the EPFL Research Office.

Important deadlines:

  • Submission deadline: 1 March 2022 (16:00 CEST)
  • Interview for pre-selected candidates: 9 June 2022
  • Decision: Summer 2022
