Aim: The mission of the American Brain Tumor Association is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis. To this end, the ABTA seeks applications from postdoctoral fellows embarking on careers dedicated to brain tumor research; the goal of the program is to encourage talented, early-career scientists to enter, or remain in, the field of brain tumor research.
Funding: USD 100’000
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Grants will be awarded to a postdoctoral fellow (designated as the Principal Investigator or PI on the application) and a Lead Mentor. PIs must have a doctoral degree, be no more than 4 years post-PhD, and not hold a vaculty appointment at the time of submission. The lead mentor must hold a full time faculty appointment and currently be conducting brain tumor research. The PI and the Lead Mentor must be at the same institution at the time of submission of the full application. There are no restrictions on citizenship or location of the (non-profit) host institution.

The LOI should be submitted through proposalCENTRAL. Once registered or logged in, you can find the funding opportunity by searching for ABTA, then download the appropriate guidelines and templates. The LOI submission requires letters of support and signatures of approval from the Lead Mentor and the Lead Institution; if you have any questions about these, contact the Research Office.
