The Biocodex Microbiota Foundation, an independent foundation created by Biocodex Laboratories in France, funds research projects on human gut microbiota related to health and disease.

Each year, the Biocodex Microbiota Foundation launches a call for proposals. The 2021 international call for research projects focuses on “Functional effects of the human gut microbiome on autism”.

The Biocodex Microbiota Foundation intends to fund projects, which focus on the clinical effects of different microbiota interventions (such as antibiotics, FMT, diet, probiotics, etc.) in patients with autism.

The call is open to both clinical and fundamental research proposals.


Who can apply:
  • The grant is open to physicians, PhD's and Pharm-D's of any nationality working in the subject area (gastroenterology, pediatrics, microbiology, infectious diseases and internal medicine, etc).
  • Applicant must be employed at universities, hospitals or other research institutions anywhere in the world.
  • Applicant with an ongoing grant from Biocodex Microbiota Foundation is NOT eligible. 

Funding & Duration:
  • EUR 200’000 (incl. VAT) for 1-3 years.
  • Eligible costs: personnel, equipment, operations and 10% overhead.

Deadline: 30 November 2020.
