After the great success last year we are happy to announce that the course Biostatistics for biologists: a practical course! will be offered again this year.
Learn STATISTICS once and for all! PROFESSIONAL STATISTICS TRAINER just for YOU (a postdoc in life sciences with ~zero knowledge of programming, because in your time, it didn't exist...), and on top of that, get to participate in an INTRODUCTORY COURSE TO R PROGRAMMINGfor total beginners, and all of this for only CHF 250 for 4 days.
--- BIOSTATISTICS FOR BIOLOGISTS: A PRACTICAL COURSE! ---
Experienced trainers from the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics will teach you the following over a total of 4 days:
Part ONE: 2-day SIB R for beginners course (http://www.r-project.org/) - course content available here.
Part TWO: 4 half-days of statistics:
- t-test, normality test, and related tests
- 2-way ANOVA and related tests
- Correlations and linear regressions
- Counting/discrete data
You will be invited to send your own statistical problems in advance, so that the course is as personalized as possible!
Total costs for the 4 days: CHF 250.-/person.
Nb of participants: limited to 15 people. Priority will be given to members of the Postdoc associations (SV and UNIL) having paid the registration fee.
Registration deadline: 20th of February 2016.

9-10th March 2016: 9:00-12:30, 13:30-17:00 (full days, introduction to R)
14th March 2016: 9:00-12:30 (1/2 day)
21th March 2016: 9:00-12:30 (1/2 day)
