To improve the prevention and treatment of infectious disease, and to promote the appropriate and effective use of antimicrobial agents, the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC) awards research grants and doctoral fellowships worldwide in the following areas of interest, as well as grants for short-term visits to the UK to institutions and individuals.
 
RESEARCH GRANTS

  • Funding: £50,000 for up to 1 year. No co-funding.
  • For what: research projects within the BSAC areas of interest. Cross-disciplinary projects are encouraged.

PROJECT GRANTS
  • Funding: £15,000 for up to 1 year. No co-funding.
  • For what: pump priming projects, introducing a novel technique for existing work, supporting a change in direction of an established project, funding for trainees for projects/training. Cross-disciplinary projects are encouraged.

  • For what: initiatives that promote awareness and increase public understanding about antibiotics and antibiotic usage.

  • Funding:  £1,850 per month for up to 6 months for scholarship and consumables + travel fare. No co-funding.
