The “Chamber Orchestra of Lausanne’s Student” (OChE) is a chamber orchestra created in 2013, composed by students, PhD students and post-docts from Lausanne’s region. The particularity of the orchestra lies in the fact it functions without a conductor. This aspect helps strengthen musician’s attention to one another, which improves the sound’s homogeneity as well as the cohesion of the group. The rehearsals are directed by the violinist Angelina Zurzolo, which undertakes the Konzertmeisterin’s role.
OChE prepares two programs per year, and each program is concluded by two concerts: one on EPFL campus, and the other one in Lausanne. This year, EPFL’s concert will take place on Thursday, the 14th of December at 7:30pm. The program is composed of rich and diverse piece, with a symphony and opera overture from the classical period, and a piece full of gentle melodies from the romantic period.
Program:
- W.A. Mozart: Ouverture de Don Giovanni, KV527
- G.Fauré: Pavane, op.50
- J.Haydn: Symphonie no.104, "Londres"
The entry is open to everyone, so whether you are a confirmed passionate or simply someone who wants to discover new pieces, don’t hesitate and come enjoy this beautiful moment of chamber music !
